Über uns: Mit dem Ziel Quantencomputing für Innovatoren und Problemlöser weltweit zugänglich zu machen, hat sich die XeedQ GmbH als Pionier im Bereich der Quantentechnologie etabliert. Unsere Quantenprozessoren nutzen Qubits, die aus Stickstoff-Vakanz-Defekten in Diamanten erzeugt werden, und ermöglichen so kompakte, robuste und energieeffiziente Systeme. Im Rahmen der Quantum Computing Initiative des DLR erhalten wir 30 Millionen Euro Förderung für den Bau eines skalierbaren Quantencomputers auf Diamant-Spin-Basis.
Location: Unsere Forschungs- und Entwicklungsabteilung befindet sich im Innovationszentrum der Quantum Computing Initiative (QCI) des Deutschen Zentrums für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR) in Ulm, Deutschland.
Räumlichkeiten: Das QCI schafft ein einzigartiges Ökosystem, das Quantencomputerunternehmen und Basistechnologien unter einem Dach fördert. Research Scientist: Microscopy & Quantum Operations on NV Centers

We are seeking a Research Scientist to support the development of NV-based quantum computing technology. The ideal candidate will conduct microscopy measurements, perform quantum experiments on NV centers, and contribute to the design and optimization of experimental setups. This research-focused role requires a strong background in experimental physics, quantum optics, or NV center research, along with hands-on expertise in data analysis and measurement system development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform microscopy and quantum measurements on NV centers for research and quality control.
- Optimize and enhance experimental setups under guidance.
- Analyze and visualize experimental data using Python or similar tools.
- Collaborate with the research team to improve methodologies and refine measurement techniques.
- Assist in the design, assembly, and troubleshooting of measurement platforms.
Qualifications & Experience:
- PhD or MS in Physics, Quantum Engineering, Optical Engineering, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience in microscopy, quantum optics, or NV center experiments.
- Strong data analysis and visualization skills (preferably Python or other open-source software).
- Deep understanding of experimental quantum measurement techniques and working with complex measurement systems.
- Experience in designing and assembling experimental setups with a focus on optimizing hardware and software for research needs.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with microscopy, quantum imaging, or NV-based quantum sensing.
- Knowledge of microwave and RF control for quantum experiments.
- Ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced research startup environment.
Quantum Engineers / Scientists
We seek several highly skilled and driven Quantum Engineers/Scientists to join our team in the development of a diamond spin-based quantum computer. This full-time position offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
Responsibilities:
- As a Quantum Engineer/Scientist, you will participate in the following activities:
- Designing and constructing diamond spin-based scalable quantum processors.
- Performing experiments to assess component performance and resolving any issues encountered.
- Publishing research findings and securing patents for innovative solutions.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Physics, Engineering, or Computer Science.
- In-depth knowledge of quantum physics principles.
- Proficiency in quantum information theory, quantum circuits, and qubit design and optimization.
- Familiarity with at least one quantum hardware system, such as NV centers, spins in solids, superconducting qubits, trapped ions, neutral atoms, or photonic quantum systems.
- Experience with quantum programming tools like Qiskit, QuTiP, or OpenQASM.
- Capability to model intricate spin systems and proficiency with GPU-based solvers.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
- Exceptional problem-solving and organizational skills, with experience in Python or C++ programming, are considered a plus.
Quantum Devices Engineers / Scientists
We are looking for a few talented and motivated Quantum Devices Engineers/Scientists to join our team, focusing on the development and integration of a diamond spin-based quantum computer. This full-time role comes with a competitive salary and an attractive benefits package.
Responsibilities
- As a Quantum Devices Engineer/Scientist, you will participate in the following activities:
- Participate in the design, develop, validate and integrate various modules in constructing diamond spin-based scalable quantum processors.
- Performing experiments to benchmark performance and resolving any issues encountered.
- Publishing research findings and securing patents for innovative solutions.
Qualifications
- PhD or Master’s degree in Physics or Engineering.
- In-depth knowledge of device physics and instrumentation principles.
- Hands-on experience in digital electronics, information theory and instrumentation.
- Familiarity with at least one quantum hardware or communications system.
- Experience with electronic design simulations and tools.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
- Exceptional problem-solving and organizational skills, with experience in Python or C++ programming considered a plus.
Technical Assistants

Responsibilities
- As a technician or technical assistant, you will participate in the following activities:
- Perform technical activities including assisting with the design, fabrication and testing of experimental modules and setups.
- Possess appropriate technical background to perform moderately complex assignments and demonstrates knowledge and understanding behind application by troubleshooting and interpreting results
- Participate in the day-to-day technical activities in R&D.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Physics or Engineering.
