AI4QT – Artificial intelligence for quantum technologies

The AI4QT project is a collaborative effort involving Fraunhofer IaF (Freiburg, Germany), the Wigner Research Centre for Physics (Budapest, Hungary), and Faulhorn ZRT (Budapest, Hungary). This initiative focuses on the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and quantum technologies, including quantum computing and sensing. The primary objective is to create software packages that enhance the efficiency of machine learning algorithms for medium-sized quantum processors during the Noisy Intermediate-Scale Quantum (NISQ) era. Specifically, the project aims to develop AI-enhanced quantum gate compilers and error mitigation methods. Additionally, algorithms are being designed to utilize NISQ quantum processors for machine learning and sensor data processing. With a strong emphasis on industrial applications, the AI4QT consortium is working on machine learning algorithms that leverage quantum hardware, benefiting from the advanced error reduction and compilation techniques developed. The outcome will be a practical software package that makes quantum machine learning algorithms viable for real-world applications.
